For Kids

As well as our Junior church activities on Sundays, we have various mid-week activities for children and young people. We are always keen to welcome new members and we try to make sure that children who have found it difficult to adjust to other groups are helped to contribute and receive from our uniformImage of Anita Hicksed organisations. At the moment we are looking at the needs of Middle School aged children, so if you have ideas or would like to help us in this area, please get in touch!

Here is some information about our uniformed organisations for boys and for girls - please notify the webmaster of any inaccuracies or updates..

Our Girls Brigade Company is led by their Captain, Anita Hicks, who is also one of our deacons. You can email here:
We meet on Monday evenings at the church building, in Grove Road, Wimborne..

The GB Motto is "To Seek, Serve and Follow Christ" and GB aims to prepare young girls for adult life, and offer them leadership opportunities at an early stage in their GB  experience. Click on the GB logo below or here, to look at their national website. The link will open in a new window.

The different age groups in GB are:

6.00-7.15pm - Explorers (4/5-7/8)
6.30-8.00pm - Juniors (7/8 - 10/11)
7.00-8.30pm - Seniors (10/11 - 13/14)
7.00-8.30pm - Brigaders (13/14 - 21)

The programming includes a variiety of activities aimed at the overall physical, mental and spiritual development of each girl. Having good fun is quite a high priority too! There is an annual camp, and trips to special events. Senior girls can work towards the Queen's badge which is a qualification recognised by potential employers. We are able to integrate schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's award programme into our own badge work.

You do not have to be a member of the church to enrol your daughter in GB but we do feel that if families are able to attend our montly parade services that is an encouragement to their children. If you want to contact our GB group email us here.

Our Campaigner group has now closed and been replaced by JNU Club, led jointly by a team of volunteers overseen by David and Gloria Enwright.
Our group contains mainly boys but we can be flexible on this, depending on your circumstances.

An annual summer camp, along with other groups, takes us away from Wimborne each summer for physical and spiritual challenge. For photos of the camp see our Photo Album page. Like GB we also aim to provide a structured leadership programme as the youngsters mature.

You do not have to be a member of the church to enrol your child in JNU, but we do feel that if families are able to attend our montly parade services that is an encouragement to their children. If you want to contact our Campaigner group email us here.
