Junior Church

Our children and young people are not just the church of tomorrow - they are part of our church today! We have
seen them grow over the years into a group of young people who want to be a part of the family at Grove Road. They are increasingly becoming involved in the music and worship life of the church, singing, or playing instruments with the worship team. They even helped decorate one of the rooms we use by helping to paint a
mural
.
On most Sunday mornings we worship with the adults for around 20minutes before leaving for our own special time in the rooms at the back where we can concentrate on the things which are important to us and how the bible relates to our lives. On the first Sunday in the month there is a family service, when the whole church family worship together for the whole time.
Once a year we host a Quiz Night, where we encourage teams of all ages to enable their encyclopaedias, dust off their dictionaries, boot up their brains, and tune up their teams for an evening of fun, food, and fund-raising for projects connected with the church. We have raised money for projects in Kenya, including a sponsorship of a boy called Felix in the village of Obambo in Kenya. You can read about it

In July, we always celebrate the past year with a special service and prizegiving. In 2006 we had a great time with the
puppet team
from Holtwood, and also did some puppetry ourselves. This was followed by a BBQ for all, in the outside space at the back of the church hall. In 2007 we were visited by Patchwork, a family team, led by Joy Farmer.We also enjoyed a BBQ. And in 2009, Liz's retirement celebration, we invited everyone who had an association with Junior church over the last 27 years to join us for a special celebration. Did they come?
