Small
Groups
To
help us get to know one another, we meet in small groups, to chat,
pray, read the Bible and share together. We are also able to help one
another out with practical and spiritual problems when they come up. It
means that our homegroups are the main place for pastoral care and
discipleship, and in our recent Vision Statement we have committed
ourselves to using them as a key part of our outreach and mission. At
the moment we have four small groups which meet fortnightly on a
Tuesday evening. Each group is different, and we encourage people to
find a group where they feel most at home. During the year our
home-groups also arrange social events, where visitors are
especially welcome. Our homegroups have begun to share in the leading
of Sunday worship on
a regular basis. Please feel free to contact
either the pastor or one of the group leaders if you would like to join
one of the groups - I have asked each leader to give us a thumbnail
sketch of their group.
Terri & Bob Hilbourne - Group 1
Tony
& Dot Hughes with Angela
Heckford - Group 2.
We come from a variety of backgrounds but fit together well, like
pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Every fortnight when we meet, we enjoy
singing, lively studies and prayer.
Bryan
& Rita Tolley - Group 3
The leaders write, "Praise and joy, love and laughter, fellowship and
fun for all ages. Giving the glory to our risen Saviour."
Ron and
Mary Wills - Group
4
The leaders write, "Our ages
range from 31-79. We encourage everyone to participate in leading
worship or Bible study, and we are a caring group. Prayer is important
to us."
 Coffee Pot meets at
5 Foxcroft Drive
every second and fourth Tuesday 10.00 - 11.30 am
We meet informally for Coffee/Tea and a chat.
Recently we knitted Teddies to send out with one of
our members to Africa.
If anyone would like transport to attend please call
Angela Heckford.
Recently, members of the church have taken part in a Spiritual Gift
Discovery exercise, and the homegroup leaders and deacons played an
important part in this, with everyone having an opportunity for a
one-to-one chat about their God-given gifts and abilities. This file
contains some definitions of spiritual gifts that we used in this
exercise. You might need to download a pdf reader to view
it - we like this neat compact pdf reader from Foxit software
-

reader. More information on the reader here.
